Hackathon “eco+tech” in Krakow
SPCleantech participated in the Hackathon “eco+tech” organized on October 21, 2023 by members of the cluster, Kraków City of Start-ups (KMS) and the Carbon Footprint Foundation. 6 teams consisting of students and graduates of Krakow universities participated in the hackathon, which lasted all day.
The submitted projects were assessed according to the following criteria:
- innovation (no similar projects in the city or region),
- logicality (relationship between diagnosis, goal and final result),
- feasibility (availability, indication of the possibility of access to resources),
- social profit (the effect of the project and its impact on society).
The rating scale for each criterion is 1-10, where 10 is the highest possible rating and 1 is the lowest.
Equally important was that the work fit into one of the 5 design challenges:
Water – how to save it? : Together, let’s find ways to reduce water consumption in homes, schools and local communities. Let’s also consider how to better use rainfall in our area.
Locally about recycling: Create projects that make people aware of why recycling is so important and the benefits it brings to our planet.
Design to last: Invent a product that is durable and easy to repair.
Help Reduce Your Carbon Footprint: This challenge challenges hackathon participants: How can they develop a strategy or tool to help others reduce their carbon footprint or energy use?
Less waste in production: Consider how to develop innovative solutions that help reduce the amount of waste generated during the production process and use existing waste.
The jury, including the president of SPCleantech, Janusz Kahl, awarded 3 prizes:
- Straw
