Visit from Green Tech Cluster

 |  Category: SPCleantech News

On April 14, 2023, SPCleantech was visited by a delegation from regional authorities, entrepreneurs and representatives of industry organizations from the Land of Styria in Austria led by Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, a member of the government of the Land of Styria for Economy, Tourism, Regions, Science and Research. The purpose of the visit was to establish economic and cooperation between the region of Southern Poland and the region of Styria in the south-eastern part of Austria.

One of the visitors was Green Tech Valley GMBH, which is one of the biggest clusters in Austria working with the green transformation of the Styria region.

The Green Tech Valley, in southern Austria, is the hotspot for green Research and Development. Over 2300 scientists work here on the green solutions of the future. With a research ratio of over 5%, the Valley is a frontrunner under EU comparison. The companies themselves also contribute to this: they deliver an additional 2/3 in research output on top. A particular strength of the Green Tech Valley is applied research. Industry in Styria and Carinthia continuously sets new standards in this area, driving forward the emergence of fresh innovation. The Green Tech Valley Research Map gives a summary of all the relevant research institutions with the corresponding contact persons.

The Green Tech Valley Cluster is focussing on Climate and Circular Solutions. The cluster is located in the south of Austria and is internationally regarded as the hotspot for innovative energy and environmental technology.

The Green Tech Cluster initiates growth through innovation. It brings together around 220 companies and research institutions shaping green solutions of the future. With 20 global technology leaders within an hour’s drive, the location forms one of the highest concentrations of companies in this industry.

The Green Tech Valley Cluster was established in 2005. The 11-strong team committed itself to the Vision 100: One World. Zero Carbon. Zero Waste. And it supports its 300 partners with industry expertise and a wide range of services. The aim is to sustain and continuously strengthen the position of southern Austrian companies and research institutions and to grow their leading, international technology and market position in the field of energy and environmental technology. Through active match-making and knowledge transfer, the cluster team facilitates and drives forward the development of green innovation in the Green Tech Valley, the #1 technology hotspot for climate protection and the circular economy.
