South Poland Cleantech Cluster is the honorary patron

South Poland Cleantech Cluster is the honorary patron of the 13th edition of the GREEN INDUSTRY SUMMIT.

For the thirteenth time, the Executive Club organized an all-day conference constituting a debate on the energy transformation in the Polish industry. The conference took place on October 22, 2024 at Stara Zajezdnia Kraków by deSilva, gathering representatives of science, organizations and enterprises involved in social processes related to green energy.

The conference was opened by Paweł Ścigalski – Proxy of the Mayor of Kraków for Air Quality. Immediately afterwards, a survey began among the guests, obtaining data, among others, on the means of transport used to arrive at the venue to calculate the carbon footprint of the entire event.

The event featured four expert panel discussions:

1. Climate neutrality in production and logistics
2. Green energy for industry
3. Extended producer responsibility (in the context of waste management and recycling)
4. Roundtable of Polish industry

The discussions covered issues that are consistent with the strategy of promoting the green economy conducted by the South Poland Cleantech Cluster:

  • increased extraction of natural resources, the issue of wood consumption for combustion (which is not excluded by the epbd building directive)
  • green construction and the admission of green tenders by Polish legislation, where it is known that 10% of all building emissions are affected by the materials used
  • cultivation of industrial forests vs. emission offset
  • safety of energy transformation and adjustment of transmission capacity, potential technical problems related to the lack of infrastructure adaptation
  • alternative energy sources: obtaining biogas from available sewage mass generated by production plants
  • reducing the use of packaging and plastic in the context of the upcoming European Plastic Treaty Act and a certain legislative chaos in Poland, where the packaging and waste management market is currently regulated by 42 different acts

South Poland Cleantech Cluster is actively involved in dialogue and promotion of green solutions. Soon we invite you to conferences and discussion panels devoted to thermal modernization of buildings, the impact of EU directives on the development of the Polish construction market, dialogue of local governments with residents and organizations of the surrounding area, technical solutions for owners and managers of housing resources.
