Green Gothenburg is owned by the City of Gothenburg, with operations managed by the municipal company Business Region Göteborg.

Green Gothenburg is supporting the City of Göteborg together with five municipal companies: Göteborg Energi, Förvaltnings AB Framtiden, Älvstranden Utveckling, Gatubolaget and Renova.

The aims of Green Gothenburg

Green Gothenburg works to increase national and international recognition of the Göteborg region as a leader in environmental and sustainable development. By providing high-quality study tours, the company offers expertise, inspiration and useful business contacts. It offers its services to decision-makers in the public and private sectors who are facing environment-related challenges, primarily in the global market, and to regional companies seeking international business contacts.

Citys study tours showcase good examples from the Göteborg region. There are unique study tours and visit programs in the fields of construction, urban planning and development, transport, waste management and energy.

Visitors also have the opportunity to make contact with environmental technology providers and companies in Western Sweden that are contributing to green systems solutions. The purpose of Green Gothenburg is to help strengthen local companies’ international business and to attract investments and enterprises to the Göteborg region.
