New initiative of SPCleantech “ESG – Call to action”

 |  Category: SPCleantech News

The South Poland Cleantech Cluster member group consisting of South Poland Cleantech Cluster, Carbon Footprint Foundation, Habitat For Business supports Non-listed SMEs as part of the new initiative “ESG – Call to action”. A team of specialists aims to support enterprises, that are SME and want to start their adventure with sustainability reporting. The group can support sustainability journey by connecting interested companies with the network of SPCleantech members and partners who provide diverse knowledge, solutions and tools tailored to the business needs of SMEs.

Non-listed SMEs in general are not in the scope and thus will not be required to prepare a sustainability report. However, they can be asked to either report certain sustainability information to their business partners as part of their value chain or, if applicable, to their parent company if the group to which they belong to is in the scope of CSRD. So, although reporting is voluntary for them, in practice it may prove necessary.

For SMEs, whether listed or non-listed, early engagement with sustainability practices offers a competitive edge and safeguards against potential risks associated with non-compliance. By aligning with CSRD standards as soon as possible, both listed and non-listed SMEs can position themselves as forward-thinking entities, appealing to conscientious consumers, as well as attracting investment and new partnership opportunities Moreover, adherence to ESG regulations presents avenues for innovation, cost-saving, and enhanced clarity on regulatory alignment.

If you are an enterprise from the SME sector and the CSRD directive does not apply to you yet, but you want to start your adventure with sustainability reporting – contact us!!

We can support your sustainability journey by connecting you with our network of SPCleantech member partners who provide diverse knowledge, solutions and tools tailored to your business needs.
