On Thursday, December 5, 2019, the first inaugural meeting of the EkoMałopolska Council was held, which was established on the basis of Resolution No. 2082/2019 of the Board of the Małopolska Voivodship of November 21, 2019. SPCleantech representative Janusz Kahl is a member of the elite group of the Council. The main goal of the Council is to exchange professional knowledge and information in the most important areas of environmental protection.

“The environment is a key element ensuring safe human functioning. The quality of the environment, and thus its condition, wealth and diversity, has a direct impact on people’s health and comfort of life. In connection with the above, the Council will constitute an advisory body for the Management Board of the Małopolska Voivodship in order to increase activity in the field of environmental protection and development.”

– says Tomasz Urynowicz, deputy marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

The Council’s tasks include consultation of the local government action plan in the field of environmental protection and consultation of draft strategic documents in this respect, including Strategic Program Environmental Protection, Air Protection Program, Waste Management Plan, Noise Protection Program, Climate and Energy Action Plan. The Council will also give opinions on Eco-Initiative – ideas for actions and ecological solutions submitted by the inhabitants of the region, and act as the program advisor for the LIFE integrated project “Implementation of the Air Protection Program for the Małopolskie Voivodeship – Lesser Poland in a healthy atmosphere”.

The EkoMałopolska project is an innovative program aimed at improving the quality of the environment in our voivodship by undertaking ambitious and decisive actions popularizing pro-ecological practices and strengthening program activities.
