“Design and development of sustainable products in a circular economy in 4 key sectors of Central Europe”

May 16, 2025 (Friday), 1:00 p.m.

NordicHouse, Studencka 15/2a, 31-116 Kraków

Please confirm your participation at: j.kahl@spcleantech.com

During the meeting, Agnieszka Włodarczyk-Gębik and Urszula Wożniak from KPT will present: Krakow Technology Park towards digital and circular transformation of companies “6R principles in product design: Rethink, Discard, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair”

During the meeting, there will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the latest trends in sustainable economy and get involved in the process of reaching Małopolska companies and ensuring the development of the region.

The EU project CURIOST is based on the premise that the circular economy is a key enabler for innovative, sustainable product development. Companies often perceive the green transition as an additional burden rather than a business opportunity. However, it is important to remain competitive, reach new target groups, develop new business models and circular products and have a positive impact on the environment. Therefore, CURIOST raises awareness of the benefits of circular product design in order to have a big impact on economic and environmental sustainability. In order to address the numerous challenges facing the manufacturing sector across Central Europe, the project aims to enable SMEs and small mid-cap companies (up to 500 employees) to exploit their potential for innovative, sustainable product development and to profit from the implemented solutions. Four sectors were selected for the project: Mechanics and Mechatronics, Plastics, Packaging and Construction, which are relevant in all partner regions.

In order to implement the strategy at the operational level, 140 companies from the SME and mid-cap sector will be selected within the project, 20 of which will be located in southern Poland.

It is estimated that entrepreneurs who already have tested innovative solutions and pilot products in circulation will have a much easier time applying for EU funds for further operational activities. As an experienced operator and partner of project consortia, South Poland Cleantech Cluster can provide support in applying for financing from EU structural funds – European Funds for Modern Economy (FENG) – SMART Path or other sources such as Regional Operational Programs (RPO) or Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).
