2nd Distributed Energy Congress in Krakow

 |  Category: SPCleantech News

On 29.10.2024 Spcleantech participated in the workshop entitled “How to cooperate and engage local partners in activities for energy transformation”, organized as part of the 2nd Distributed Energy Congress at the ICE Kraków Congress Center. The organizer of the Congress is the founding member and shareholder of SPCleantech, University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków.

The workshops were an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to local cooperation in the context of energy transformation. During the workshops, we learned about many inspiring activities carried out in this area. During the workshop, the meeting participants talked about effective ways of convincing and engaging residents and community members in discussions about Civic Energy Communities (OSE) and Energy Communities (SE), engaging entrepreneurs in pro-climate activities and achieving climate goals. After the group work was completed, the results from each of the 2 tables were presented, and the workshop ended with a summary of key conclusions and a proposal for further actions.

Following the success of the first edition, AGH started organizing the 2nd Distributed Energy Congress – in an expanded formula. This time, the thematic scope of the 2nd KER covered key problems and challenges for the future of the Polish energy transformation. The Congress Program Council, consisting of leading experts from the world of business, science and administration, guaranteed a high level of substantive debate and an apt selection of topics.

The ICE Congress Center in Krakow hosted the 7th Distributed Energy Forum (7th FER). These include:

  • 4 plenary sessions and 15 thematic sessions
  • keynote, expert discussions
  • literary stage (meetings with authors, bookstore)
  • networking zone
  • catering zone
  • chillout zone

KER aims to integrate the environment that develops distributed energy

By creating the Distributed Energy Congress, we focus on the local dimension of energy transformation and strengthening cooperation between its main stakeholders – economic and scientific communities, non-governmental organizations and central and local government administration. KER continues the idea initiated by the Distributed Energy Forums of inspiring cooperation between leading industry organizations related to the development of local energy initiatives and the implementation of renewable energy technologies. We invited you to the Distributed Energy Congress for the first time on September 25-26, 2023. The meetings took place in the facilities of the AGH University of Science and Technology. Staszica in Krakow (Studio Club, Computer Science Center, Aula A-1) and combined the proven formula of the ER Forum with the first edition of the ER Scientific Conference.

During the 1st KER, representatives of institutions related to the development of distributed energy announced and signed a joint position regarding the situation of the industry. Their presence at the 2nd KER guaranteed that the debate focused on the diagnosis of real problems and practical recommendations on how to overcome them.
