South Poland Cleantech Cluster

is a collaborative ‘quadruple helix’ cluster established by cleantech industry, research institutions, public/semi-state players and NGOs in the region of Southern Poland, with a vision to create Central Europe’s leading and at the same time one of the most competitive cleantech clusters in the world. This will deliver superior innovation and co-create a facilitating for the introduction of cleantech technologies and services across sectors.

Today’s major global challenges arising from climate change, rapid urbanization, population growth and increasing energy consumption can not be solved by a single technology. Equally, no single sector-government, business or civil society – has the mandate and/or resources to address such long term and complex challenges. Only a combination of technologies and working partnerships of expertise, including integrated water systems, renewable energy, intelligent grids, smart city solutions and waste treatment systems can deliver sustainable, multi-sectoral solutions.

The vision of the cluster is implemented by building and developing the potential of 10 cooperation platforms:

  • industry 4.0
  • Smart City / sustainable urban development / e-mobility
  • intelligent buildings / management systems / ecological building materials
  • energy efficiency
  • smart grid / green energy
  • VR / AR / MR
  • Big Data
  • internet of things / internet of everything
  • bio-economy
  • circular economy

Café for Start-ups: Business Angels

 |  Category: SPCleantech News

On Tuesday 27.02.2018, SPCleantech organized as Pre Acceleration Point as part of the NordicHouse Café a networking meeting for start-ups “Why start need Business Angels? How to get them?”

During the activities of most startups, a moment arises in which the so-called bootstrapping, or basing development on own resources, is not enough for effective business development. Inability to obtain external financing and lack of own funds creates a barrier called the capital gap. A remedy for this problem may be cooperation with the Business Angels. Angel’s support, however, is not just cash. It’s also called smart money, or experience, a network of business contacts, managerial knowledge or know-how.

We have learned about the pros and cons of working with business angels at this networking meeting.

Special guest:

Jacek Kubrak, business angel, investor, creator of innovative projects and technological solutions
