South Poland Cleantech Cluster

Janusz Kahl, CEO in South Poland Cleantech Cluster has been chosen by the European Commission as member of the Steering Committee for the project

„Skills for smart industrial specialization and digital transformation (SIS&DT)”

for Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) acting under the powers delegated by the European Commission EASME / DG GROW, which has been granted to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Luxembourg.

EASME is the largest EU agency managing, among others, EU funds from the HORIZON 2020, COSME, LIFE and ERASMUS+ programs.

The main goal of the task is to work out:

EU 2030 Common Vision on High-tech skills for SIS&DT

Members of the Steering Committee are responsible for:

  • monitoring of the work and reviews of reports developed by PwC
  • meetings in Brussels with EASME and the European Commission to review progress and discuss the preparation of periodic reports, which should be approved by the Steering Committee
  • participating in teleconferences
  • providing advice and guidance during the work

2. Breakfast at LifeScience Cluster

On 23.02.2017 SPCleantech took part in the “Second Breakfast of LifeScience Cluster” which was a meeting at a set table, during which were presented and discussed by experts topics important from the point of view of business technological innovation, operating and development companies and institutions related to the life science sector and not only.

The participants of the breakfast were decision-makers – directors, CEOs, CFOs, chief accountants, Quaestors and other persons in managerial and expert positions, mainly representing Partners LifeScience Cluster Krakow, as well as other institutions and technology companies from Malopolska.

The theme: NEW SOLUTIONS TAX RELATED with commercialization of B+R

Changing the model of the Polish economy, requires a number of system activities aimed at supporting research and development activities. In this regard, recently introduced a series of tax incentives whose task is to facilitate the activities in this field both by entrepreneurs and scientific units. During the meeting brought closer to the main principles and tax risks that occur during the process of commercialization of the results of B+R (R&D?)

They said among others about:

  • How to recognize the costs of R & D in terms of tax?
  • Relief on R & D according to the new rules.
  • New rules for taxation of transfers in kind in the form of commercialized intellectual property.
  • Withholding tax on the transfer of technology.

These and many other questions, answers were provided by experts Crido Taxand, who were available to participants throughout the morning.
